SAVAGE CHOOCHOO × Sadie Sink
This illustration was created with three purposes: to respond to a friend’s railway photograph, to rest my mind from depicting too many dim and somber atmosphere before, and to practice rendering a variety of textures. The composition combines movement and stillness, featuring a rusty, abandoned locomotive with shattered windows, steel rails, weathered wooden sleepers, scattered gravel, a lash grove, and colorful clouds in the distance. In the foreground, I incorporated a young girl inspired by an image of Sadie Sink walking barefoot on a beach. Here, bathing in a fleeting moment of morning light, she wears a printed sheer dress that flutters in the wind, its transparency subtly revealing the rugged railway surface beneath. This contrast between delicate fabric, rusted metal, and coarse gravel highlights my exploration of texture.
