KILL BILL × Uma Thurman

Having chosen the theme song of Kill Bill as my wedding music, it was impossible for me to overlook this cinematic masterpiece, renown for its electrifying action sequences and rhythmic storytelling, delivering a brutal but mesmerizing experience. I adapted an artwork for the sake of pattern composition and incorporated the cartoonish homage to the film’s iconic Tokyo setting. However, the depiction of Uma Thurman with a samurai sword in hand lacked fluidity, resulting in a stiff and less professional gesture. Despite this, the dual swords held by the Bride—one in the foreground and one in the background—form a triangular vantage point, emphasizing her perilous but commanding presence. I also added the hem of her wedding gown to create a visual separation between the stark black background and the dark tabletop in the front.
