THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL × Saoirse Ronan

When reflecting on symmetrical composition, one cannot overlook the impressive cinematographic style of The Grand Budapest Hotel. Inspired by this iconic aesthetic, I sought to recreate the elaborate structure and vivid hues of the film’s spectacular reception hall. For the focal point, I positioned Saoirse Ronan at the center, seated gracefully amidst a pile of pink gift boxes. Her dark blazer provided contrast, while the converging lines of the staircases and the carpet naturally drew attention to her serene and unblemished visage. However, the constraints of my paper pad imposed limitations on the illustration, particularly in capturing the expansive grandeur of the setting. Were I to revisit this piece, I would amplify the volume of the ceiling, allowing it to fully convey the opulence and architectural majesty of the building.
